Terms, Returns & Policies

30-Day Return Policy

We want you to feel confident buying from LiveGear. If an item you receive is materially not as described on the product page, you may return it within 30 days of the delivery date for a full refund of the purchase price.

To initiate a return, contact us at info@livegear.co.za with your order number and a brief description of the issue. We will respond within one business day with return instructions.

Returns are accepted where:

  • The item has a fault or defect not disclosed on its product page.
  • The item received is not the item described or pictured.
  • The item was damaged in transit (see Shipping & Insurance below).

Buyer's remorse — changing your mind about a purchase after receiving a correctly described item — does not qualify for a return under this policy.

Return shipping costs are covered by LiveGear where the fault is ours. Where the item is being returned for another reason, return shipping is at the buyer's cost.

Voetstoots — Sold As-Is

Unless otherwise stated, all used items listed on LiveGear.co.za are sold voetstoots — that is, in their current condition as at the time of sale, with all existing faults whether visible or latent.

This is standard practice for second-hand goods in South Africa and is consistent with the Consumer Protection Act provisions applicable to private and consignment sales of used goods.

However, we believe in full transparency. We do not hide known faults. Every item listed on our store has been inspected, and any cosmetic marks, physical defects, missing accessories, or functional limitations are clearly described and photographed on the individual product page. We encourage buyers to read product descriptions carefully before purchasing.

If something is listed as "Used", expect wear consistent with professional use. If something is listed as "New" or "Mint", it is in unopened or near-perfect condition as described.

Testing & Vetting

Every item that passes through LiveGear is physically tested and vetted before being listed for sale. We are not a marketplace — we handle the items ourselves, and we are production professionals who know how to assess gear properly.

Our vetting process includes:

  • Functional testing of all inputs, outputs, and controls.
  • Visual inspection and documentation of all cosmetic faults.
  • Verification of included accessories, packaging, and documentation.
  • Where applicable, software and firmware version confirmation.

The results of this inspection are documented on each product page. You are buying with knowledge, not hope.

Shipping & Insurance

LiveGear ships to addresses within South Africa. We use reputable third-party courier services and take out transit insurance on all shipped items to cover loss or damage during transport.

While we take every reasonable precaution in packaging items securely, once a parcel is in the hands of a courier, we cannot control how it is handled. We cannot be held liable for damage caused by third-party courier handling during transit.

In the event of transit damage:

  • Photograph the damage and packaging immediately upon receipt.
  • Do not dispose of the packaging — it may be required for an insurance claim.
  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery at info@livegear.co.za.
  • We will assist in lodging an insurance claim with the courier on your behalf.

Shipping costs and delivery timelines are calculated at checkout and will vary by location. Remote or outlying areas may attract additional costs or extended delivery times.

Consignment Terms

LiveGear accepts quality used production gear on consignment. By consigning gear with us, you agree to the following:

  • You are the rightful owner of the gear and have the legal right to sell it.
  • The gear is accurately described to us, including all known faults.
  • LiveGear will assess, photograph, price, and list the item at our discretion.
  • Consignment pricing and commission rates are agreed between LiveGear and the consignor prior to listing.
  • Items remain the property of the consignor until sold.
  • LiveGear is not liable for theft, loss, or damage while items are in our care beyond reasonable negligence.
  • Payment to the consignor is made within a reasonable time after the sale is confirmed.

If you wish to consign gear, contact us with the make, model, and condition of your item.
